The Leesburg Police Department is hosting its 4th Annual Fiesta Latina event at the Ida Lee Park soccer fields (near 80 Ida Lee Drive NW). This community event is free and open to the public and begins at noon. The following is from the Town of Leesburg’s event write up:
“The event is part of the police department’s continued efforts to engage with Latino community members, to hear the community’s perspective on what we are doing well, where we can improve, and what concerns they may have.
The event will include a soccer tournament, snacks and drinks, informational and recruiting kiosks from LPD and community organizations, and bilingual officers to answer questions. A trophy will be awarded to the winning soccer team.”

Join the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Purcellville Tree and Environment Sustainability Committee, and Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy to get up close and personal with the creek critters living in the South Fork of the Catoctin Creek at the Chapman DeMary Trail. Loudoun Wildlife Stream Team members will discuss the natural history of these critters, help participants learn how to identify them, and explain how they can help us determine the health of a stream.
