George Washington’s Mount Vernon is now decorated for the holidays. Candlelight tours are offered on specific dates during the holiday season. Visitors will meet Mrs. Washington and other 18th century guests. A guide leads visitors through a lantern-lit historic area before being greeted by Mrs. Washington and her guests. Visitors will learn about how the Washingtons celebrated Christmas during the 18th century, hear 18th century tunes, learn 18th century dancing in the Greenhouse, and enjoy warm cider and gingerbread treats. Visitors may also see Aladdin the Camel on the Washington’s 12 acre field. For more information, click here.
