New: Loudoun County Magazine Now Produced by Students Enrolled in LCPS

Loudoun County Magazine is launching a new publication model based out of Loudoun County Public Schools. Beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, Loudoun County Magazine will be produced digitally and with an annual print issue by students enrolled in LCPS. Briar Woods High School in Ashburn and Park View High School in Sterling are the 2020-2021 charter schools, however, students from across Loudoun County are encouraged to apply to the program. Admissions information is located on the Loudoun County Magazine website: http://loudouncountymagazine.com

Loudoun County Magazine’s mission is to challenge and inspire students in Loudoun County to tell their region’s stories in a compelling publication that is sold annually. All income generated by the production and sales of a student produced magazine would fund the production of the publication.  The student produced publication would be the only printed and digital issue of Loudoun County Magazine. Archives of previous content published by Loudoun County Magazine is available on the website.

“Loudoun County is a vibrant community with a growing technological economy and tourism sector,” Loudoun County Magazine Director Jessica Monte stated. “Several outstanding publications in Loudoun County address news in the community. We’ve established this program in order to challenge young people in Loudoun County to experience the media industry and to create a compelling publication for local residents to enjoy.”

Loudoun County Magazine will be available online during the 2020-201 school year and with a print issue in May 2021. Business interested in supporting this program with print or online advertisement can email Jessica Monte at Jessica@LoudounCountyMagazine.com or visit Loudoun County Magazine online.
