The Aldie Mill Historic Park is home to the Aldie Gristmill. This historic site was considered the largest factory in Loudoun between 1807 and 1809, making it a remarkable presence in Northern Virginia’s industrialization. In fact, after being sold in 1835, this mill operated for six consecutive generations until its closure in 1971, with President James Monroe as one of its most notable visitors. To this day, the Aldie Mill is still functional. Tourists can watch live demonstrations of the metal water wheels during April and November weekends.
